Can’t arrange the love? Arrange the wedding!
Ball and Chain (also known as The Arrangement) is a romantic comedy directed by Shiraz Jafri. The film centers around Ameet and Saima, two second-generation Indian-Americans whose families arrange their marriage. Initially, both are determined to stop the wedding, but in the process, they unexpectedly fall in love with each other. However, complications arise when Saima’s parents promise her hand to a sleazy playboy named Ashol.
The movie explores themes of cultural clash, family expectations, and the humorous side of arranged marriages. It stars Sunil Malhotra as Ameet and Lisa Ray as Saima, with supporting roles by Kal Penn and Purva Bedi.
